Tried to reinstall Office from CD- error code I’ve ran CCleaner and Norton Utilities hoping they would clean out some left over garbage but that wasn’t it. What I’ve found online to address this issue either isn’t for Win 10 or it’s a fix some 3rd Party software.

Any suggestions? Thanks- Late. Late4ttime, Feb 3, You must log in or sign up to reply here. Show Ignored Content. But 64 bit version Office must be installed on 64 bit windows operation systems. There are some technical limitations with the bit version. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. I didn’t know if any of the directories listed were sensitive information or not, so I blacked out parts. I doubt that it will make any difference whether I remove that or not, but it’s there anyway. This installer allows the user to activate any one of these 3 bundles.

This installer is an exception since all other installers provided by MS are specific to a single bundle. If you need to, with your product key you can go to this page and download another copy of the installation file:. I got the installation file off of Microsoft’s website originally, though I re-installed it through your link just to be sure. Simply run the command:. This seemed to get me past my previous error with the registry key.

The installation continued, and the progress bar reached nearly full, then began to go backwards I doubt that is normal. After a few minutes I get yet another error message pictured below , this time with no error codes or further information at all.

I’m sure there’s a log file somewhere that may have more information, but I’m not sure where or what steps to do from now. This problem is turning into quite the headache. That command resets access rights to default. And yes, that would probably help with your previous error.

First, take a look in the „Reliability Monitor”. I don’t know, but it may provide a link to show you more information about the abend. If that doesn’t work, turn on „Verbose Logging” and run the install again, then take a look at the log files to see if you can identify an error.

So we can help find the error. You can post the generated Logs in Onedrive and give a link to them to your technician if you need technical help.

So posting extract may catch the problem, but often miss the important info, so it is best to give us access to everything captured. The best thing to do in this situation is to restart your computer, and run Office Setup again with complete verbose logging turned on with one additional option. To do this, start Office Setup. Btw, with Safari on an iPad Mini, this email link to this thread is being redirected from answers. Office Single Image is the name of the installation file used by factory to install the Office free trial.

It is called 'single image’ because unlike every other installer it may be activated by any one of the 3 consumer product keys: Home and Student, Home and Business or Professional. The applications not part of the bundle are left not activated. I am guessing that as a home machine you bought it at a retail store. That would logically include the Single Image free trial. Have you done a Windows 10 Refresh or Reset? That would explain why the Single Image „magically” re-appeared. The last install was after my last clean install of Win 8.

I’m forgetting if that was earlier this year or a year ago. I did the free upgrade to Win 10 Pro in July.
